Distil Residential
The Distil residential weekend in New Lanark allows musicians to explore new ideas, look at creating with different genres of music and learning from peers in an amazing environment. Emma attended the residential in October 2014 along with giving her the opportunity to write for McFall's Chamber in April 2015 it also allowed her to experiment freely with the use of the Viola in trad. music - this is an area Emma would like to do more research into and hopefully create more Trad. music for the Viola.
Distil also organise scratch band days in which participants learn about composing for specific instruments and for different learning. Emma attended a scratch band day in September 2014 on writing for percussion, keyboard and strings.
