Routes is a string quartet made up of four traditional Folk Musicians, Tricia Mullan (fiddle), Grainne Brady (fiddle), Emma Tomlinson (viola) and Rufus Merlin-Huggan (cello). Routes writes and performs a combination of contemporary compositions and innovative arrangements of Traditional Music. The ensemble explores the vast textures, tones and intimate musical qualities which are characteristic of a string quartet.
