On April 10th Mr McFall's Chamber and Paul Livingston premiered a live performance of 'Talisker Bay', written by Emma for solo viola and string quintet.  The piece was written to provide a platform for experimenting with the Viola's ability to play Traditional Music, hence the solo viola line, and arranging contemporary Trad. music for chamber ensemble.  The title, 'Talisker Bay', is in reference to Talisker Bay on the Isle of Skye.  Emma visited there one summer but on quite a stormy day; it's imposing rocky outcrops, black sand, in combination with the weather gave the Bay quite an unnerving atmosphere and inspired the mood for the piece.  Below is a live recording taken at the first performance at Stirling Tollbooth on April 10th 2015.
